About the speaker:
Erik Sander, The Michael Durham Executive Director of the UF Engineering Innovation Institute, has a diverse career spanning engineering, academia, entrepreneurship, and venture capital. At the University of Florida, Erik has held multiple leadership roles, fostering industrial collaboration, entrepreneurship, and innovation, including serving as the founding Executive Director of the Florida Engineering Experiment Station (FLEX).

Gator Nation Giving Day
· Gator Nation Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraiser benefiting multiple departments, organizations, and colleges at UF.
· UF’s “Stand Up and Holler” Gator Nation Giving Day has quickly emerged as one of the most successful giving days in all higher education.
· Alumni giving is one of the key measures used to determine national rankings, and Gator Nation Giving Day has helped UF previously reach Top 5 status in the U.S. News and World Report list of best public universities.
Sarasota County Gator Club's Participation in and Goals for Gator Nation Giving Day:
· After leading all Gator Clubs in the world on Gator Nation Giving Day for number of gifts and money raised in 2023, SCGC led the way AGAIN in all measured indicators in 2024 with 178 gifts (the highest of all clubs), $6,730 raised (the highest of all clubs and over $2,500 more than second place), and 110 individual donors (the highest of all clubs). Because of this, we received an additional $1,000 bonus. In three years, our club has received 1,120 gifts and raised $32,058 during Gator Nation Giving Day from individual donors just like you!
· With our strategic plan in place, our club has remained in raising scholarship funds for local students ($285 in 2020, $5,641 in 2021, $9,400 in 2022, $9,002 in 2023, and $7,730 in 2024).
· All funds donated on Gator Nation Giving Day that are designated for the Sarasota County Gator Club are placed in our scholarship endowment and only accessible by our club, not by the university.
· Due to the success of this event, we have annually increased our scholarships awarded for local graduates to attend UF from $5,000 in 2021, to $7,000 in 2022, to $10,000 in 2023, to $12,000 in 2024 and hope to be able to increase our scholarships awarded again in 2025!

Gators Caravan with Coach Golden
The newly developed Gators Caravan featuring Florida head men's basketball coach Todd Golden is heading to Sarasota and will now include Florida head women’s basketball coach Kelly Rae Finley!
The revamped summer tour will bring a new format that includes a live conversation with Golden, Finley, and the Voice of the Gators Sean Kelley. Golden and Kelley will also take questions from the audience.
Cheerleaders, Dazzlers and Albert will join the festivities and fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win prizes, including signed basketballs. Florida Victorious will also be on hand to share how fans can get involved with their efforts to support Florida student-athletes.
Tickets are on sale now for $15 and can be purchased via Ticketmaster. Each event will have heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
